Our Must Visit Airbnb’s

For us, having to cut down on our traveling has been one of the difficult parts of dealing with the repercussions of COVID-19. Planning trips is one way we keep our relationship strong, and is a hobby that we enjoy fervently. The anticipation and excitement of going somewhere new is the drug we just can't get enough of! Traveling isn’t just a vacation, but a way to expose yourself to someone else’s way of life. Even if you’re in your own country, you would be astonished at the different ways people live just miles apart from each other. We as humans get too comfortable in our own bubbles of life, so it’s important to be around people (with a mask and social distancing, of course) that are different than yourself.
While we are still amidst a global pandemic, the world will eventually return back to a new sense of normal. So in the meantime while we are limiting our travel to keep others safe, here are some destinations we have been scouting that just look dreamy!
Did you know there is a place that has so much mid century modern, it feels like you hopped in a blue 1950 Chevrolet and time traveled to the mid 1900’s? A place where vintage and modern design have come together and made a beautiful architectural wonder. The land of palm trees, pastels, and pools. From a great selection of restaurants and bars, to hiking, and relaxing under the sun, Palm Springs has it all! This getaway has done an amazing job of sticking to the colorful mid-mod we all know Palm Springs for. Oh, to be sipping a cocktail and laying by that gorgeous pool right now.
2. Modern Airstream in Joshua Tree, CA
Just around the corner from Palm Springs, is the national beauty of Joshua Tree. I can attest, there is nowhere in the world that looks like this place. Shop local stores, eat local restaurants, and hike! Airstreams are the cutest things ever, and this one has been redone so beautifully. If you need to really connect with nature, this is the place to do it.
3. A-Frame Cabin in Oceanside, OR
We have been to Portland a handful of times, but have never stayed in a place like this. The landscape of Oregon is breathtaking, it’s astonishing how you can be surrounded by beautiful pines but then turn around and see the ocean waves breaking on the sand. This mid-century A-frame cabin has panoramic ocean views, and is perched on a hillside just 2 blocks above Oceanside Village and the beach.
4. Bywater 1880s Mansion in New Orleans, LO
We recently just got back from New Orleans, and I have to say it is one of the coolest places we have ever been. There is so much culture and history in one city, it makes for quite the cuisine and experience. New Orleans has been owned by 4 different countries in its history, and it is apparent in everything surrounding you. The streets are lined with gas lamps, and all of the buildings look just as they did 200 years ago. This beautiful mansion is one to get a group of friends together to take a trip together to NOLA. With 5,000+ sq ft of living space and 1/3 acre of gardens, The Mazant is a historic mansion located in the heart of New Orleans' Bywater arts district - and about 1.5 miles from the French Quarter (30 minutes walking or 8 minutes by Uber). We are close to Bacchanal, The Joint, The Country Club, Elizabeth's, and The Music Box. It's perfect for family reunions, wedding parties, company off-sites, and other large groups. Dreaming of eating all of the delicious Louisiana BBQ and dancing to jazz playing on the street after a few cocktails.
Hopefully this has satiated some of your wanderlust and given you some ideas for future travel plans, we’re already booking things! Please remember while traveling to be considerate of others. Maintain proper social distancing of 6 feet apart, wear a mask, and frequently wash your hands. If you are feeling ill, please stay home and quarantine for the 14 days required. Love you all!
